Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4 DG Summilux Review

Today I’ll be looking at a lens with a classic focal length that has been widely accepted as a ‘normal’ lens.  These types of lenses are generally referred to as the ‘nifty fifty’, and for good reason.  Generally speaking, this type of lens can be very bright, small and have fantastic optical properties in a low to medium cost lens.  With that being said, here are my thoughts on the Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4 DG Summilux ASPH lens for the micro 4/3 lens mount.  To prevent myself from having to type that out again, I’ll just call it the PL25 from here on out…

A maternity shoot from the weekend

If there is one type of shooting that I am continuously stymied by, it has got to be doing a maternity shoot.  You would think that this would be a simple task, especially considering that there is a central focal point of the entire shoot.  For myself however, this is not the case.  Over the years of reading about photography, I have seen so many bad or overly cliche pictures that I don’t want to misstep into one myself.

An interesting bridge and a portrait

Today I just have a few things to show off.  Earlier, I was able to get out on a bike and get 20 miles in.  On the way, I stopped at a decommissioned railroad bridge over the Youghiogheny river that I’ve had my eye on for a while.  I first saw this bridge when I first started to date my wife.  We were tubing lazily down the river with friends and once we got to it, we got out of the river and onto the bridge to jump off.  This was the first time I’ve actually jumped from a bridge for a woman, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
